The counter that never came back out
Earl Hardyes set up a one-blade mill on the creek road in 1968 to saw for the farms around Farrow's Mill. Folks waiting on their lumber kept asking to buy boards straight off the drying stack, so Earl nailed together a sales counter out of his own ash. It never came back out.
Three generations on, that's still the whole business: the same saws that cut for contractors fill the racks you walk on Saturday morning. Mill on one side, yard on the other, one family in the middle.
Milling quoted before we start. Yard prices on the board. Nobody leaves confused.
